HONOLUA BAY MAUI -YOU CAN`T AFFORD TO MISS THIS EXPERIENCE

Honolua Bay is situated at the Mokuleia Marine Life Conservation District. The beach lies between mile markers 32 and 33 on a Highway numbered 30. Tourists can actually walk a certain distance getting down the vehicle crossing the thick forests and some vegetation fields. The shore has so many rocks but still this is a good place to swim. The cliff places are the great ones to enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving. A beginner will find it difficult to enjoy here due to the presence of rocks. One has to carefully move in the gap present between the rocks and enter water. Summer is the best season to enjoy its beauty. Lipoa Point can give the best view of this place, which is a nearby road.

Honolua Bay is not a good place to go during the rainy season as the water will be seen in mud red color due to the runoff from streams. Lots of water supported activities are preferred such snorkeling, scuba diving, and surfing. One has to be careful to study about the presence of strong currents before jumping. An expert must guide the beginners. The spectacular coral formation adds beauty to the place. Vast species of fishes can be found, which can be a visual treat to many. The right side of the bay is preferred for any kind of activities. Tourists can have great pleasure in enjoying all the activities and it can be a lifetime experience for all of them. North beaches are most suitable for the water sport activities.

Honolua Bay is a small sandy beach with rocky shoreline and no lifeguard. Swimming, snorkeling, diving, surfing are some of the activities carried on in this part of Maui. Seasonal high surf is one thing, which should be noted for a safe trip. This is a protected marine life preserve and hence fishing or spearing or fishing is prohibited in Honolua Bay. A better visibility is obtained during the summer season. Murky water is present alone the shoreline and improves as the distance from the shore increases. Snorkeling does not have to be done to a great depth to see the marine creatures. This bay is filled with tropical pretty reef fishes and turtles can be easily found. Dolphins can also be seen on a large scale but occasionally.

Honolua Bay has got a grayer and primitive view under the waters. However, after reaching to a certain level, different colors of coral will appear. The chain movement of silvery fish can be an exotic experience. The water is calm and comfortable. It is very important to stay off the coral. Some people who get water in their mast would trample the coral. This should not be done as trampling will kill the coral. One should understand that Honolua Bay is a marine preserve spot. It is important to follow the guidelines while snorkeling and scuba diving. They are meant for the safety of tourists and hence should not be neglected.

Maui Halaekela “HOUSE OF THE SUN”

Halekala National Park is Maui’s main natural attraction. It is estimated that every year around 1.3 million people visit this spot and it is 10,023 foot high. The entire Maui is at its feet and a clear view can be easily obtained. This is considered to be an active volcano even though it has not erupted since 1790. The hole would hold Manhattan which is 3000 deep, 7 ½ miles long by 2 ½ miles wide covering a total area up to 19 square miles. The local people regard this mountain to be a sacred site. Pu’u o Maui is the tallest cinder in the crater and is 500 feet high from the crater’s floor. The drive through the uphill can be a life time experience. Tourists can reach Haleakala on foot, bicycle, car, and horseback. Private instructors and guides can be appointed by the tourists. There are some things which must be ensured before climbing the hill.

Some of them are:

The toll free number is given to check the weather conditions. It is 808-871-5054

The price of ticket to park vehicles ranges from $5 to $10.

The drive will take up to 2 ½ hours which will give dramatic experiences.

The top of the hill will have colder climate and temperature. It is good to bring jackets and sweaters to protect from the biting cold temperature.

People with heart disorders must consult their physicians before venturing out and should not attempt hiking.

It is a good practice to fill the car tanks as there are no gas stations on the way. There are no shops available and it’s advised to take all the snacks and other required things before starting the trip.

A clear view of the crater floor can be easily obtained when the altitude rises. The clouds get merged and this can be a lifetime experience for the first timers. It is good to stick to the speed rules. Obey the signs shown and be careful while driving. An interesting fact to know is that for every 1000 feet above the mountain range, the temperature drops by 3 degree. Hence it will be 30 degree cooler than the normal sea temperature.

It is important to have sweaters to survive the extreme conditions there. Leleiwi can be reached in a short time on reaching the park. A panoramic view known as the “Specter of the Brocken” will give the reflection of your shadow surrounded by rainbow. It’s an optical illusion caused by the rare combination of sun, shadow, and fog which occurs only in three places around the globe. They are in Haleakala, Scotland and Germany.

One can successively reach Kalahaku Overlook, Haleakala Visitor Center, Puu Ulaula Overlook and the Science City and they all can give some of the life’s best moments. A handy camera would be a good companion to record all the moments.

Maui Horseback Riding is A Unique Experience

Horseback riding can be one of the best experiences in Maui with exceptional number of ranches working here. Most of the ranches are located at Kapalua in West and South Maui. This needs a certain level of experience to have a careful drive and to control the horses during the journey. Most beginners will be accompanied by instructors and experienced riders will always experience challenging rides promised to them by the ranches. Horse ride seems to be little bit expensive but it is truly worth paying the amount.

Maui horseback rides will take the tourists through the tropical rain forest areas to unleash the natural beauty while riding. It is a very unique and pleasant experience where it takes down to windswept cliffs of the Pacific Ocean. The roaring sounds of waves and scenic beauty will bring a rip-roaring joy to the riders. The horse ride also takes the riders in to the crater of Haleakala and the experience can truly be matched to driving in the moon. It can even take the riders to the Hana highlands near the famous Oheo Gulch. It is a fantastic place with less human population and one could occasionally find any vehicles crossing by. Taking a ride along the roads of lush green tropical forest and black sand beaches can be exquisite. It can be extended to the ranch lands high above the central valley with ethnic beauty. The extreme level of enjoyment can be felt while riding from the beach at Makena to the winery at Ullupalakua.

Tourists must ensure that horse riding is done with proper safety. All the horseback riding tours have the starting place at the Maui Stables. Morning refreshment and other snacks items will be provided by the ranch owners without any extra fee. Tourists are also provided with closed shoes and long pants. These are the basic requirements for a horseback ride in Maui. Cameras should not be forgotten. They will be helpful in recording the wildest of events that take place in Maui. Changing clothes is highly recommended after a tough riding. Most of the horseback rides are restricted to persons having a weight less than 300lb. Tourists can also cancel their trip and get a full refund on their money.

There are some useful tips to be followed while horse riding in Maui. These are the simplest tips that can ensure safety and enjoyment for all.

Here they are:

Horseback riding companies in Maui will not take children under the age of 18. It is better to inform the companies so that alternatives can be arranged.

Advance reservation may help the tourists to get the best of horseback rides. Bathing suits, closed shoes, long pants, thongs must be taken and packed well.

The timing may range from 2 hours a day to a one full day ride. Proper planning will ensure 100% enjoyment.

Tours are daily, times and lengths may vary. Prices start at $90 per person plus tax. Riders must be at least 8 years old.

Unfortunately we can’t accomodate those who are pregnant, due to a host of safety reasons.

A drive through the highway roads of Hana can be an exquisite journey reviving the beauty of nature. One would feel that he is the only person within the miles as cars and other vehicles may occasionally pass by him. Road to Hana is one of the most beautiful places and tourist attraction of Maui. Going through the road, one can easily understand that the agriculture is the main lifestyle of local people. They have pine apple fields, taro fields of Keanae and other starchy vegetables planted. The lush green forests with exotic flora and other rich varieties of fruits offer great pleasure to the human eyes. Nature can be enjoyed at its best in this drive.

The density of tropical forest makes the road trip so adventurous. The 52 miles long road way is in extreme good condition which provides the alternative to Old King’s trail that had been the island’s main path for many years. The trip may take 2 hours for a complete travel and kindly try not to hit the frogs if it is raining. The road has got so many sharp curves and one-lane bridges so you need to drive carefully. Some of the oldest churches can be seen during the drive. The best of all exotic experiences can be enjoyed by the presence of waterfalls and water pools on the road sides. Taking a short drive to Wainapanapa State park can be worthy. You can spend some time in exploring the black sand beach. The beach has very powerful currents and only experienced swimmers are allowed to swim here.

Resting areas can be found only at some distances from the road. There are umpteen numbers of spots to stop by and click the cameras. There can be lot more fruit vendors and other business men selling goods on the sides. Taking their help could be worthy to know more about active spots on the roadway to Hana. The town can be reached in just 2 hours of driving. The town is filled with tourists and other nature lovers. The magnificent resorts, restaurants and other hotels may offer the best of views of the beautiful island. The lush green atmosphere sets the platform for maximum enjoyment.

Another famous destination down the town is Oheo Gulch which tourists should not miss and it may take another 45 minutes drive to the sleepy little town. It has large number of pools where swimming is allowed if it’s not raining. There are lots of National parks and the waterfalls which are famous worldwide. The waterfalls, vegetation, eucalyptus groves and the bamboo stretch will definitely add great pleasure to your journey.

Drums of the Pacific Luau: Voted the #1 Polynesian Luau on Maui!

Journey through the islands of Polynesia as the Drums of the Pacific dancers tell stories of the islands through authentic performances. Witness the dancing and music of old Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, New Zealand, Tonga, Samoa and a spectacular, unforgettable Samoan fire knife dance! The luau includes an open bar with an elaborate all-you-can-eat dinner buffet that features Hawaiian and Western specialties including Kalua pork, Mahi Mahi fish, Huli Huli chicken, and Teriyaki steak plus a variety of island accompaniments and desserts. Luah festivities bring great cheer to the tourists in Maui.

Luau is a traditional Hawaiian/ Polynesian festival filled with extreme dancing, music activities. This festival usually involves unearthing of the Emu. The most highlighted activity in the feast is that people bury a whole pig with banana leaves and hot coals. They roast it and unbury it and serve the pork with other Hawaiian foods. It is composed of Poi, a Hawaii staple prepared from taro, beef, and chicken.

Luah offers a wide choice of vegetarian dishes and hence can also enjoy the feast with their favorite dishes. The culture and tradition are very well explained here. The add-on features with the traditional dance and other cultural events are the inclusion of Cirque du Soleil style acrobatics in the trees and fire dances. Most parts of Luah offer fire dancing. The professional dancers will dazzle the crowd with fire knife and other properties.

Luau is especially meant for kids and family entertainment. The Old Lahaina Luau is considered to be the most authentic Hawaiian of the Luaus. The excitement will be at its peak during the ‘Drums of the Pacific’, which takes place at the sunset. Every evening will start with the traditional greeting and complementary cocktails will find their presence. The display of native Polynesian crafts and other customary artistic products will enlighten the evening. It will then be followed by the splendid buffet dinner of the traditional Hawaiian cuisine. Vegetarians and Non-Vegetarians will find scrumptious food being served by the excellent cooking experts.

Highly energetic dancers will fill the evening with their magical dancing moments. They are fast paced and display a talented showcase of songs and dances portraying the tale of the primitives. Chief Fa’a is one of the most fine tuned dancing experts who will grab the attention of the public with his fire-knife dance. Royal Lahaina Luau will make the trip an unforgettable celebration of dance, music, and food.

The extravaganza starts when the cast dancers and musicians climb the stage. The fire artists start weaving their hands before they give their spell binding performances. The stunning movements of the fire dancers in musical rhythm can be exotic experience. The dance will speak volumes about the tradition being followed by the primitives. Fire dancers wave their arms to simulate fire and then reposition themselves for the various dancing activities.

The fire dances might last long till 45 minutes. They may have a theme according to the occasion. Resorts in the oceanfront Luau gardens offer greater views and joyful moments the sand beaches. Once the fire dance is over, people will start eating out their favorite dishes. Presence of an open bar will make the day for most of the men and women. Special “kids” buffet is also available. No other event could finish the day in Maui so perfectly. It is worth spending the money on fire dancing in Maui to collect sweet and adventurous moments of life.

The Luau is daily from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Prices are $86 per adult, $61 per teen (13-20 years old) and $49 per child (6-12 years old) plus tax. Children 5 and under are always free.

Promotion Rate: One child (6-12 years old) is FREE per paying couple!
